Goan Pork Vindaloo

Pork Vindaloo finds its origin in Goa, on the west coast of India and is a very popular dish in this region. Serve the pork vindaloo with a green salad and basmati rice.

Goan Pork Vindaloo

Recipe Ingredients

  • 2 pounds pork (cut in cubes)
  • 2 onions (thinly chopped)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon ginger paste
  • ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 2 tablespoons fresh chopped coriander
  • 2 tablespoons gur
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon oregano
  • Salt as needed
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Recipe Instructions

  1. Take cumin seeds, garlic paste, ginger paste, paprika, oregano and turmeric powder in a food processor and process until fine mixture.

  3. In the meanwhile heat oil in a pan and add the marinated pork with spices, cook for about 5 minutes at medium high with occasional stirring to avoid the spices to burn.
  4. Now add the chopped onions and again cook for about 5 to 10 minutes or until the pork is tender and properly cooked.
  5. Finally add gur and mix well.
  6. Take out in a serving dish, garnish with chopped mint and serve hot.
