My first Haridwar Ganga Ghat visit goes back to the time when I was just 12 years old and seeing the Holy River Ganga which was so important in grandma’s mythological stories, was a memorable experience for me.
There is something very spiritual about this place and in spite of the hustle & bustle around you feel solace in your mind.
The moment u land Ganga Ghats there is some thing about it that makes you to explore this place. Going for a holiday to this is certainly not an exciting idea but it surely counts for an experience. It is really an alluring experience to have once in a while.
The bridge connecting the roads over the river is flooded with so many people that you literally feel what if it collapses with so much crowd!!
The mighty river flows ferociously and there are so many people who treasure the river water as the object of Ultimate Salvation!

There is crowd all around which runs in thousands. There are enormous number of people with plenty of respect & devotion for the Holy river Ganga and offer prayers asking for blessings to get their dreams & wishes fulfilled. Government authorities keep cleaning and arranging things all over the ghats but because there is so much crowd sometimes it becomes really difficult to handle & manage everything.

One may spot so many people selling things which draw everyone’s attention and there is a curiosity to know more about but generally all are afraid to try out.

There is immense faith for the holy water. People carry river water to far off distances just to get their wishes & desires fulfilled.

Everyone is happy there. I saw this sadhu who had no pain of begging in fact he was happy to be clicked.

The enchanting view of Ganga Aarthi is mesmerizing. You feel yourself submerged with devotion towards the River Ganga just when you have witnessed Ganga Aarthi. So many people come together for a common prayer.

People light diyas & pray to the river for their desires or their pain. During the Aarthi flowers are flown with diya in it.


You may spot many people taking a dip in the holy river at nights time too! There is a lot of crowd during the night time as well!

Haridwar Ganga Ghat is surely a must visit place once in a while to get rid of the fast paced & digital life people nowadays are used to live. It is a very peaceful & soul reviving experience!
