Hello,
Monsoons have hit all the parts of the country and people are really relieved from the ever-increasing temperature in the summer season. I am basically not a fan of the rainy season for stepping out but this time it was pertinent for me to step out as hubby dearest will be away for a long gap of 6-7 months sailing away!

Well, in spite of not being a Monsoon-loving person I managed to avoid some travel mistakes which people commonly make due to lack of proper planning! Well, I am not perfect and I too couldn’t avoid a few things which made things a little messed up during the trip!

Lets look at the common things everyone should keep in mind before travelling to any place in the monsoon season.
Keep Everything Waterproof
This is the foremost important thing to do during the monsoons! Carry your luggage and handbag essentials in a waterproof luggage bag or handbag so that when you reach your destination, even if it is raining, your luggage is saved from water. You may opt to get drenched so that you may change once you reach your place of stay but don’t let your luggage enjoy the rainy season!

Handbag is really and essential part of luggage as important papers, money and many other essential items are there in it which should not be risked to get a shower while your away from home!
Carry light fabric clothes
It is very important to carry few of those clothes which have light fabric material like cotton, linen which if by chance get wet in the rain can be dried easily under fan as there is a rare occasion of sun showing up in the monsoon weather!

Don’t forget a pocket umbrella
Never step out without an umbrella as you may not know when the rains might hit the city so to save yourself from any unplanned change of weather it is important to buy a pocket sized umbrella which can be easily folded and kept in your handbag.

Carry poly bags
It is very important to carry extra poly bags along so that even if your stuff gets wet in the rains and you don’t have time to let it dry under the fan, you may keep in in a poly bag and keep along with your luggage so that other things are safe from being wet if kept together without a poly bag. These poly bags can also keep your hand bag safe if the fabric of your bag is not water-proof!

Wear Monsoon Bellies/ Slippers
When you are visiting any place in monsoons be prepared that you won’t be able to wear your statement heels as the place might have water logging problem and may damage your shoes! It is better to step out in monsoon bellies or slippers to keep your heels safe!

Also these kind of Monsoon-friendly shoes saves your from getting stuck in any type of slippery earth surface!
Keep your gadgets waterproof
Gadgets like tablets, cellphones, laptops & cameras should be well protected from the rainy season! Water is the worst enemy for all of these gadgets so make sure to keep them safe inside your luggage and don’t carry them along unless you have a water-resistant bag with you!

Carry an extra mobile/internet connection
Generally, monsoons bring heavy rainfall at some places which may sometimes hinder the normal mobile networks which cause failure in mobile or internet connection for quite some time unless the problem gets fixed.

So carry an extra Sim card of some other network operator so that if your current one fails to function properly, the other one would rescue you at times of need!
Well, as I mentioned earlier I too just forgot about the extra Sim card and as a result, I wasn’t unable to surf the net due to a very bad net connection! I really missed being able to comment here and it was a learning experience for me! Hope you all will keep all these in mind!
